Travel Tips » BEAUTY PLACES » Sapa

In the early 20th century, following the construction of the railway line between Vietnam and southern China, the French took advantage of Sapa's cool climate, developing it into a hill station retreat from the heat and humidity of Hanoi for the summer months. Today, Sapa retains its European feel, largely because of the French buildings, gardens, and roads within this small mountain city resort.

We organize adventures around Sapa that are both scenic and cultural, including short or day-long treks through the surrounding countryside and traditional villages, cycling along mountain roads with some of the most beautiful scenery in Vietnam, as well as the ultimate challenge, that of conquering Fansipan, Indochina's highest peak at 3143m. A little further from Sapa town, the weekly tribal markets such as Bac Ha on Sundays, Coc Ly on Tuesdays, we will give you real unique experience of a minority culture that remains completely untouched by the modern world. There are also many other very memorable locations in the North-west, including the legendary Dien Bien Phu, site of the famous 1954 battle at which France was resoundingly defeated as a colonial power in Indochina. Our experienced and knowledgeable team here at Sisters Tours as well as our friendly and experienced guides will make sure you have the best possible adventure in this beautiful place!
